Heliohebes are natives. A species with lovely strong red margins to the gently serrated margins. Bold clumps of small white flowers. This is rare in the wild in Banks Peninsula, its only location. It clings to rocky crags and fissures in full sun.
Native. Rare in the wild.
Bushy small shrub, leaves like dull and small V. haulkeana. The white flowers are amazing in a tight raceme, held above the leaves. Good drainage essential. Other colour forms are present evidenlty.
Laid out cut flower image info: First bloom is a real species lilac, 2 is a species Heliohebe haulkeana or now more correctly veronica , 3 is V. hulkeana ssp evestita Lena, 4 is a 'Hagley' cultivar, 5 is Lester's cultivar, 6 is V. lavaudiana, Fairfieldii is another one I have but is missing from the lineup. Any more out there? PS. I managed to put the little vases in a different order unfortunately, compared to the laid out flowers..
