Blue Vervain. A stout, upright, clumping perennial that grows to 80cm. It’s a visually striking ecological superstar with lance-like green foliage, and blue-purple, tubular flowers that resemble a candelabra. Native to North America, dry to moist to wet soils in full sun to part shade. Low maintenance and a slow spreader by rhizome and seed. Second image from wiki commons by wackybadger. Nice work! |
