Chinese Meadow Rue. The double form, doubly nice. Thrives in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Intolerant of hot and humid summers. Dappled shade is preferred. 100cm Borders or shrubberies. Coming in spring.
Larnach Castle, Dunedin where Margaret Barker uses this plant to superb effect, emerging as a summer spectacle form the mass of now quiet azaleas. if you look you will see Colchicum speciosum in purple beneath.
