Sophora prostata

Dense, tangled wiry shrub with sparse foliage and hidden flowers in late spring. Semi-deciduous. Very tough on exposed, cold, dry sites. Hardy. Up to 2 m, opening up as it becomes mature. An excellent bonsai subject. I am trying it as a mass planting in my winter garden as the stems are so brightly yellow with an outstanding form. Perfect for small white or yellow bulbs underneath.
