Good for shady areas, adorned with small pink-flushed white flowers.

“Evergreen and reliable, it works well in containers, nooks and crannies such as in drystone walls, and as groundcover at the front of borders.” Gardens Iillustrated.

London pride. An evergreen perennial to 30cm in height in flower, forming wide mats of rosettes with spoon-shaped, long-stalked, shiny leaves with scalloped margins. Small pink-flushed white flowers are borne in lax panicles from early summer. A hybrid between S. spathularis and S. umbrosa. Great to form a dense mat in shady areas. Large plants.
A wonderful image, (and effective planting too),  by photographer Montacilla Wikicommons.
