A flowering carpet, fresh foliage until winter and very early flowering too.
Afghanistan to South Tadzhikistan and West Himalaya. Stemless flowers of glowing rose pink appear amongst the compact foliage of this little creeping carpet in very early spring and late winter. H5cm x W25cm. Moist soil, shade. Ideal for crevices. If you wonder about the blossoms being the same for this and P. clarkei and even P. warshenewskyana, I cannot see the difference, but their sizes, flowering times and petiole length vary. This is a larger one with bigger leaves that can reach up to 10-30 cm tall, in early spring. The leaves look fresh and inviting right into autumn which is unusual for a primula. Deciduous.
