Primula rosea

Afghanistan to South Tadzhikistan and West Himalaya. Stemless flowers of glowing rose pink appear amongst the compact foliage of this little creeping carpet in very early spring and late winter.. H5cm x W25cm. Moist soil, shade. Ideal for crevices. If you wonder about the two images being the same for this and P. clarkei, I cannot see the difference, the other has more rounded leaves and runs less. I think running is good, it's only tiny and so it runs a few centimetres, as opposed to clumping. Deciduous.
