A very easy and rewarding alpine plant, which produces golden yellow buttercup flowers over a long period from a dwarf mat of bright green leaves. Oct- Dec. Full sun or partial shade. 5cm H x 20cm.
This one will take a while to grow to size from the divisions.
An apomictic*, perennial, mat-forming herb of seasonally parched, basic, open habitats, including coastal limestone rocks, inland rocks, crags and screes on limestones and other basic rocks, and dry chalk grassland. P. verna is morphologically and cytologically variable, some of this diversity may be hybrids between P. verna and P. crantzii.
*Apomictic refers to asexual reproduction where viable seeds are made without fertilizations, so making genetic clones of the maternal parent.
