You have to love a phlox. Massed plants or various shades in combo is brilliant.

Found in Dunedin. Seems the same as another I have seen, smae plant different name. Purple - magenta blooms with dark paired flashes in spring. Needle leaves. Deep, rich and bold. Mat forming. For borders, baskets, pots, rock gardens… will spread over time. Great for massed displays contrasting with pink.
The massed flower photo shows how odd the colours can be with the phone camera . This is quite purple in the flesh.
