Oxapetalum caerula syn. Tweedia caerulea

South America. Supposedly getting as tall as a meter, I have found mine to be about 65cm. The heavy frosts here cut it back a bit, but  it can bounces back. Best to sow some seed in autumn under cover to ensure you always have it. The plant has gorgeous pale pure blue flowers and late in summer/autumn it grows incredible seed pods 10cm long. Filled with fluffy seeds. Full sun, I have found it happiest in my sand bed. In a border it tends to get swamped, but then, my borders are a riot! A perfect cut flower to add whimsy to bouquets.
