A lmid height perennial for a great vibrant patch of colour. Far East, attractive and hardy bright red serrated flowers from summer to autumn. Grown in rich moist soil it is desired by all. Flowers with deeply slashed and serrated blood red petals in clusters above pale lemon-green foliage. Sun or part sun. 45cm. It originated in northeast Asia, with populations found in Japan, Korea, Northeast China, and the Russian Far East. Genetic studies suggest a history of two-way migration between the Asian continent and the Japanese Archipelago, with one route from the Russian Far East to Hokkaido and another from the Korean Peninsula to regions like Nagano.
