Lilium pardalinum

 A late addition to the spring garden. Elegant and self supporting. 

Leopard lily from the Pacific Coast of America 1.2m high in summer. It isn't that tall here where I use it in my bulb meadow in light shade. It thrives and lies waiting for all the earlier bulb successional drama to finish, then it quietly assumes magnificence adding interest for another few weeks. Nothing like the aggressive and, by comparison, course tiger lily, but delicate and pretty.  Gets too big for posting in November. Otherwise wait for dormant bulbs or when they are smaller. Small bulbs only.
