Soft thistle or silver giant scabiose. A lovely Balkan/Turkish plant looking a bit like a thistle, with loose clums of soft, greyish, dissected, hairy leaves. In early summer it makes lots of spherical rosy-purple heads 3-4cm across. 50cm. Good as a cut flower and for bees. A very variable species. For a dry sunny spot. Good drought tolerance. 30-50cm in flower.
