Iris chrysographes 'Black Form'

China and Myanmar.  The darkest, almost black iris with  velvety flowers. Golden lines add to the effect. Fragrant. Summer flowering on tall strong stems. So perfect in the border, under roses...
The foliage is neat and grey green , which needs hacking off when dead. The Niwaki or other Japanese flax saw makes it a breeze.  Good soil a bonus. but I have it in my snd bed, it goes down the 100-200mm to get to the soil and does very well. Full sun to light shade. Usually in forest margins and meadows, humidity is no issue.  70cm in flower.

NB big pots can affect the postage.
