Veronica (Heliohebe) lavaudiana
Veronica (Heliohebe) lavaudiana
Check out NZPCN NZ Plant Conservation Network, a great website for natives
https://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora/species/veronica-lavaudiana/ for images
Bushy small shrub bearing pairs of fleshy red-edged rounded, toothed leaves from Banks Peninsula. Fuzzy twigs (lens needed) with 12-25mm leaves. The flowers are amazing, pinkish white in short stalked, rounded clusters held above the leaves. Rare in the wild.
Laid out cut flower image info: First bloom is a real species lilac, 2 is a species Heliohebe haulkeana or now more correctly veronica , 4 is a 'Hagley' cultivar, 5 is Lester's cultivar, 6 is V. lavaudiana, 7 is a species V. raoulii. Fairfieldii is another one I have but is missing from the lineup. Any more out there? Small plants. I managed to put the little vases in a different order.
