The names of these are very confusing. I will keerp propagating the two. But really...I have had a battle for a few years. Copper pin sounds exotic, but it is a red orange colour that is quite bright but somehow perhaps tinted with a white or yellow to bring it back a notch without any hint at all of pink. SO hard to describe! It does have a more orange inner portion to brighten it up. The colour is not accurate on the photo, it looks a bit bland here and at the top is a different one, that is possible to discern by eye, but not in the photo. In saying all that a combination can give a nice variation when planted in drifts. Quiet beautiful and very long loved plants.
Picture 2: The top pair are Chelsea Red, the middle, a single Ben Vane and the others could be Henfield Brilliant, Copper Pin or Chocolate Blotch. (There is one of Copper pin and Henfield Brilliant anyway.)
Rock Roses are versatile shrubby perennials, excellent for growing in the rock garden, or at the front of a hot, sunny border or in sand on poor soils. Red flowers, over a bushy mound of bright green foliage. Plants must have very good drainage, particularly through the winter. Trim plants lightly after blooming to maintain a nice form. Evergreen in most areas. Drought tolerant, once established, these will also put up with poor, sandy soils. Sun. As an edging, pots and rock garden. Very hardy. 30x 60cm
