Glaucidium flavum

Yellow Horned poppy. On the continent and in the UK these are found on stony beaches and dry spots.  20-60 cm, min. Handsome rosettes of blue-grey deeply ruffled leaves. Branching heads of curious prickly buds open to show their yellow-orange petals. Followed by long rapier-like curving seed pods. Hardy to frosts, drought.
