Rare Plant. Balearic eurphorbia. L'Euphorbe Sopinette or Little Fir Spurge as it is called in France where it grows along the Mediterranean coast in rocky places. I love its foliage and its shrubby little habit. Easily trimmed, but beautiful as it ages and grows in unusual directions slowly forming a dome shaped clump with closely-packed upright stems clothed in whorls of tiny blue pointed leaves. Perfect for Med gardens, shingle gardens. I bet it is in the Delos garden at Sissinghurst! Lovely in every way. Compact heads of small green flowers last for weeks throughout summer. The seed heads carry on the show. Totally hardy here. Seeds gently.

Rare. Little Fir Spurge, Mediterranean coast. Upright stems clothed in whorls of tiny blue pointed leaves. Compact heads of small green flowers last weeks and even more as the spent ones. This plant is discussed in the flora of Corsica, in the north at Cap Corse, where it survives on granite rocks in the incessant winds.  A bit further up from Fankenia laevis in the splash zone on granite rocks it thrives adding silvery blue to the natural scheme. It is as tough as old boots. I’m now growing them together now.  Information from “Bring the Mediterraneaninto your garden” by Olivier Filippi. S. Hardy. Seeds gently.
