Eranthis hymnalis

Winter aconite. What a charmer. July flowering!  It is a native of European woods,and it will happily seed about, despite the seed taking a year to form a pair of seed leaves...  A bit of gravel will help keep them happy, perhaps in a a partly shaded rock garden, or in association with another plant like Frankenia. Even in full sun in a well drained,  humus rich soil. Three flowers per pot.
