Large-flowered leopard's-bane's bright, This bright yellow is very uplifting in spring. There are many species, this one flowers in the spring alongside the last daffodils. 10-40 cm. Sunny but not dry place, poor stony soil. This species is found growing in limestone rubble and gravel on eroding mountain sides. It is native to mountainous regions between 1400 and 3400 m in altitude in the Alps, Pyrenees and the northern Balkans. 15-35cm. So suitable for the front of a border or a rock garden or trough.
