Delphinium requienii

Luscious, and that isn't even without the statuesque flowers. Let it seed.

Southern France: wastelands, roadsides. etc. A most unusual and impressively tall plant with hairy racemes of densely packed flowers. Biennial with violet mauve  blooms or some would say orchid-like brownish blue-purple. Impressive, glossy foliage avoided by slugs and snails. Vigorous. Very stable so they don't need staking or any special care as they are so tough. Suitable for natural landscaping. Use for low maintenance plantings. Will sow about gently so that you can always have it. If sown early, this delphinium will flower in late autumn, but later sowing, will give flowering in the second year. Te leaves and the flowers are very attractive. 80-90cm at least. Sunny and good drainage.  

Now seed available in alternative listing, or plants in early spring.
