This species is locally very common in ancient olive groves and below fig trees. Dr. C. N. Goulimy found this crocus in November 1954; but it was only in 1975 that this weatherproof, autumn-flowering species was named after its discoverer. Only found in the Peloponnese, Greece. The blooms come on a long floral tube giving them quite an elegant air. They will naturalise in a mild climate like Christchurch. These bulbs were grown from seed from Oron Peri. Best with good drainage and a sun to light shade.
These bulbs along with C. sativa and Sternbergia lutea all work in drought prone gardens cheering them up in autumn.
Only a few. One large or medium plus baby (so one flower soon)
