Rock Harlequin. Charming biennial with pink flowers tipped with yellow. Pink stems. 30-90cm tall. Full sun and or part shade, dry, acidic, gravelly and poor all good. So woodlands, in the sun… AT present I am growing it with its roots just touching water, sit very moist and it is very happy. So it seems very adaptable and a great filler, flowering from spring in a flush and then sporadically until autumn. I can hardly wait until it flowers as it is a new species for me with seed from Scotland. I imaging it will be good mass planted which is what I intend to do. Plenty left for everyone else too. I hope Peter is Ok with me sharing his wonderful images from Minnesota wildflowers, until my plants flower. He shows it on very poor soil indeed. Isn't it amazing how one can find so much information about a plant that is unknown, to avoid killing it by selecting the wrong conditions.
