South African bulb.  Keep dryish or dry when dormant. A great conservatory or indoor plant. Be sure to bring it into the shelter away from frosts in winter if you are in an area with proper frosts. Rarely offered in garden centres, the glorious, tall pink flower spikes appear above glossy rosettes of fleshy green leaves in spring. Perfect for lighting up those difficult dry, shaded areas of the garden. Enjoying similar conditions, plant in any position where hellebores and clivias thrive, even in  shade under trees. Large flowering bulbs.
