An absolute charmer. My favourite campanula. And undemanding. But a little slow commercially speaking! Large plants
Campanula cochlearifolia 'Elizabeth Oliver' is a full double of the species. With light, powder blue flowers. It was introduced into cultivation in the 1970s and apparently takes its name from the daughter of a Mr. Bull, in whose garden it first occurred in Nottingham. RHS Award of Garden Merit and I can see why, untorublesome and simply minutely delicious. Each flower is almost 1cm across but there are lots of them. Like the species it is a creeping rhizomatous perennial one and it can get about, bless it, discretely, making a mat of small, rounded leaves, with flowers in summer. Tough with its roots under a rock yet so demure. Excellent for nooks and crannies. Perfect for your summer colour trough.
