| A huge abundance of summer scented yellow lanterns Rapidly growing to great heights. On a trellis or scrambling over banks or up trees it can evidently get to 5m. Can be pruned hard in winter to knee high or less severely if you want earlier flowers. I would suggest chopping after flowering to avoid any seeding. Deciduous. Unfussy even drought tolerant . Fluffy seeds freely produced and this is a potential problem if these are dispersed. Not a problem at Tikorangi Garden according to Abbie Jury. BUT Keep out of native bush, alpine scrub and wild areas. If you garden near our native areas, or wilderness of any sort, don't plant it. Especially in higher altitude sites in New Zealand.
