Cephalaria gigantea

Cephalaria gigantea

COMING SOON

I have two labels hanging round, both C. radiata and C. gigantea.  But this plant is I believe the C. gigantea version. These two are the same height more or less, radiata is slightly shorter. But it is so tall it is hard to pick, this one is more stiffly upright. I have ever stalked them. When it flowers again I will take more notice. I cannot tell one fewer from the other by way pf reaserch. Anyway I just love this plant at the back of a border. Standing tall and gracefully open with masses of flower heads. At head height it has attractive foliage and masses of scabious-like flowers of pale creamy lemon. Fantastic for cutting. Will self sow quite a bit but easy to weed/edit out. Hardy and tough.  1.7m

More settling in to their pots, ready in November.
