| This very pretty small shrub has strong stems and lovely waxy bright green longish narrow leaves. The flowers are very attractive waxy pink bells which hang from the stems and are a focal point in the garden when in full flower in summer. It doesn’t take much care once established and will grow in shade quite well. It is from the Azores but is remarkably hardy. I have had two cosseted under shelter for years, but recently discovered the seedlings surviving under a bit of shade and protection. Seed about gently. Salt spray not an issue. Hard living fine too, see image from the Azores! |
