Calceolaria biflora

Chilian and Argentinian hard to find plant, evergreen, densely hairy leaves. Clumps up nicely,  topped with large golden flowers spotted with red, 2-5 on a stem. Grows in dry or damp sandy, gravelly soils, and is well-suited for rock gardens, alpine troughs, or gravel screes. 12 cm high in bloom. Hardy. Sun or light shade. Looks exotic and difficult. Looks are deceiving.
