Astilbe chinensis

 Chinese Astilbe is an effective ground cover due to its low-growing, spreading nature. It creates a green carpet-like effect when planted in clusters. With mauve pink flowers. The new flower buds are very pretty and give it pone of its common names of purple candles. Sun or partial shade in summer. Winter dormant. 40 cm.
