Calico aster. This plant is a delight for humans and pollinators alike in late summer/early autumn. The stiff, relatively short (60-70cm) stems hold myriads of twinkling pinkish-white, fluffy centered flowers. Great for the edge of a border. Meadows or gravel gardens. I have mine in sand and it does so well. It does not spread.
