Elegant spires of cream seed pearls on feathery plumes.

Goat's beard, Bride's feather. North American.  A superb plant. Elegant sprays of light green pinnate leaves emerge in spring. Then long tapering spires become cream seed pearls on feathery plumes. Cream colored flowers in late spring or summer. Humus-rich, moist is best, but adaptible. Slower to establish but worth the wait. Almost a metre in flower. Cut flower, lasts about 10 days. The name is “dioecious,” meaning the plants are either male or female. The seed capsules are poisonous. Unknown sex at this stage. I never looked!
