Androsace lanuginosa leichtlinii
Androsace lanuginosa leichtlinii
An easy plant for the rock garden or well-drained front of the border.if your border is petite! Best in a trough or pot to admire and ensure you don't loose it. This plant doesn't require much beyond the basics and yet on this meagre fare it will bloom later than the others and so it is a valuable addition to the other species. It will bloom on and off for most of the summer and well into autumn. To ask for more would be simply bad form. The mat is quite a large forming a shaggy sort of sprawling mass with grey-green lightly hirsute rosettes that send stolons about. The umbels of pink white flowers with small green, turning pink, eyes are pretty. Fine outside in winter for me, not sure about humidity tolerance though. North west Himalayas, not high altitudes.
