Showy Persian Onion. A delightful large globe-shaped Allium flower originating in the "stans". As the leaves start to die down, flowers emerge, so one for late spring. Create an eye-catching display by planting in groups, scatter them through other plants of for a pot. (Pair with a medium euphorbia for continued interest). These are drought tolerant and can dry out in summer. Turn them into a long-lasting cut flower. They do need some light to grow properly. So place them at the front of your border emerging from smaller plants that can hide the withering leaves and allow the flowers to attain their splendour above. They do not like sitting in water over winter. Good drainage required. Bulks up quite quickly, but not fast enough!. Four flowering size bulb. 60-70cm We are all a bit late getting sufficient of these bulbs to sell. They are slow from seed. And I need lots before I can part with any at all. Hence the silly prices. |
