Low shrub to 0.3 m tall. Stems prostrate to decumbent, almost divaricating. \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nzflora.info\/factsheet\/taxon\/Veronica-raoulii.html\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s2\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eV. raoulii\u003c\/i\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003eplants are very similar in having the anterior calyx lobes fused, but distinguished by their more open and ascending to erect habit, with at least some longer internodes 5–8 mm (consistently \u0026lt; 5 mm in \u003ci\u003eV. maccaskillii\u003c\/i\u003e), larger, obovate to spathulate and more acute to acuminate leaves with more and deeper teeth, and only four calyx lobes.
