Phyllodoce empetriformis

Pink Mountain-Heather. Dense small shrub with erect stems. Twigs much-branched and hairy when young. leaves are almost needle-like. Flowers on reddish hairy stalks clustered at the tips. Acid soils preferred (or neutral). Found in moist meadows and seeps in subalpine, alpine. It seems fairly undemanding here, even in drier places. Slow growing. Small pants, only a year old, tiny!!!
